Kathleen Kayse, EVP, Advertising Sales, Oprah Winfrey Network

Kathleen Kayse joined OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network as executive vice president, advertising sales, OWN in October 2009. In her position, Ms. Kayse oversees advertising sales strategies for OWN, as well as its digital assets including Oprah.com.

Ms. Kayse comes to OWN from Discovery Communications where she oversaw the digital media sales division as executive vice president, digital sales.

Prior, Ms. Kayse led advertising sales and partnerships for AOL, generating more than $1 billion in advertising revenue for the company. Additionally, she spent 21 years with Time Warner. As publisher of People magazine, she managed all advertising sales and marketing operations. In 2003, her sales team achieved record success winning the magazine a #1 coveted spot in PIB advertising revenue, pages and share. During her time within Time Warner, she also held publisher positions at Money and FSB: Fortune Small Business magazines. She began her career in Chicago at Wells, Rich, Green, and J. Walter Thompson.

Ms. Kayse received a Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising from the University of Illinois. She is an Advertising Women of New York member, and IAB member, and a member of the OPA Board of Directors. A 2009 CableFAX Digital Hot List honoree, she has also been recognized by Advertising Age magazine as “One of the Top Women to Watch.” Ms. Kayse is based in New York.

 

 

 

Michael J. Kelly, President/CEO, The Weather Channel Companies

 

Mike Kelly oversees The Weather Channel® television network, The Weather Channel digital properties and Weather Services International. With nearly 30 years of experience in the media industry, he most recently served as senior advisor to Veronis Suhler Stevenson, a media-focused private equity firm. Previously, Mike was presiden of AOL Media Networks where he was responsible for the marketing, distribution, advertising and search revenue for AOL web properties, as well as the Advertising.com network and affiliated Time Warner digital brands.
 
Previously, he was president of global marketing at Time Warner and oversaw the company's group working with partners to develop cross-platform marketing solutions to take advantage of Time Warner's businesses. Before that, Kelly was the founder and CEO of American Town Network (ATN), an interactive media company that develops and manages hometown intranets in 90 communities in the Northeast and cited by Brandweek as the most comprehensive community information resource in the United States. Before establishing ATN, he worked in sales at the Chicago Tribune and in 1983 joined Fortune as a sales representative. A member of Entertainment Weekly's launch team, he later became the magazine's vice president and publisher. Kelly serves on the board of the American Advertising Federation, as well as Professionals in Advertising PAC and American Town Network.
